Youth sports and activities can be fun and rewarding for everyone involved- players, coaches, parents, and spectators. However, there are some important things to remember before a season starts. Please read the following to understand our Parent Code of Conduct. Before you register your child for any program, you must read and electronically sign this form. Checking the box to sign the form upon registration means that you have read and understand the Parent Code of Conduct, and understand the consequences if you do not follow these terms.
- I hereby pledge to provide positive support, care, and encouragement for my child participating in youth
sports by following this Parent Code of Conduct.
- I will encourage good sportsmanship by demonstrating positive support for all players, coaches, and
officials at every game, practice or other youth sports event.
- I will place the emotional and physical well being of my child ahead of my personal desire to win.
- I will NOT advise the coach how to do their job.
- I will support coaches and officials working with my child, in order to encourage a positive and
enjoyable experience for all.
- I will remain in the spectator area during games/practices.
- I will support a sports environment for my child that is free from drugs, tobacco and alcohol and will
refrain from their use at all youth sports events.
- I will remember that the game is for youth – NOT ADULTS - and that participation in youth sports
is a privilege, not a right.
- I will do my very best to make youth sports fun for my child.
- I will ask my child to treat other players, coaches, fans and officials with respect regardless
of race, sex, creed or ability.
- I will NOT make insulting comments to players, parents, officials, or coaches of either team.
***If anyone shall fail to follow these guidelines, they may be asked to leave the sporting event by the
director/supervisor, and may be subject to further suspension from future Ontario Recreation District activities***
