Animals Wrestling - Winter 2025

Youth wrestling, for boys and girls, through Animals Wrestling Club.

Animals wrestling has been a fundamental piece of Ontario's wrestling history for the past 40+ years. Many of our wrestlers have gone on to lead successful wrestling careers in high school and beyond. We've had state champions, collegiate wrestlers, and many district titles. We love the sport and enjoy assisting in the journey of the kids development. 

Animals Wrestling is for grades K-8th, boys and girls.  

Practices will be split by age/grade and experience and held at the Ontario Middle School in the Cub Gym from 6-7pm and 7-8:30pm on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, starting January 7th. Coach will let you know which practice to attend. Mandatory parent meeting January 2nd, 7pm at the Cub Gym.

 Cost is $35 In District, $45 Out of District, which includes a shirt. If you need financial assistance, we have scholarships available. Just come into the office. Please don't let that be the reason you don't participate.

Athletes need to come to practice with clean athletic shorts or sweatpants and wrestling shoes. ABSOLUTELY NO jeans, snow pants, zippers, or buttons allowed on clothing. Earrings, bracelets, or any other jewelry are not allowed on the mats. No dirty shoes from athlete OR parents allowed on wrestling mats. 

Girls Basketball - Winter 2025

Girls’ basketball for those in the 1st-6th grade. If you purchased a jersey for the 2023 season (Ontario, Vale, Nyssa and Adrian) and it still fits, you can reuse it. If you need to purchase a new one, please add it to your registration.

Some travel will be required (Ontario, Adrian, Nyssa and Vale). Games will be played on Saturday.

All ONTARIO teams will practice in Ontario.

In District (lives within Ontario School District boundaries)- Early Reg: $25                           Regular Reg: $35

Out of District (lives outside of the Ontario School District boundaries)- Early Reg: $35                    Regular Reg: $45

Jersey Cost: $15

Season will likely be played mid-January through early February. All games will be played on Saturdays. Practices will be in the evening. Your coach will let you know about practice dates, times, and locations. The earliest practices will begin at 6:15 pm, for Ontario. 

We need volunteer coaches! If you are interested in coaching, please sign yourself up to coach AND sign up the child to participate!

Mission: Help shape the future of Ontario High School Boys Basketball

Who: Boys basketball players grades 3-6 via Ontario Rec

What: Basketball league of live games and fundamental teaching. Teams will be split by grade and placed with an OHS Boys Basketball player that will provide coaching and mentorship to members of the league.

Where: Ontario High School Gym (register via Ontario Recreation website)

When: January 4, 11, 18, 2025 (3 Saturdays)

3rd-6th grade division: 9:15am-10:45am (check in with coach each Saturday at 8:45am)

 *Kids of the league will play a halftime scrimmage at OHS Boys Varsity home game(s) and be invited into the locker room before games, halftime, and post game with OHS boys basketball varsity.

**(Details on this to be announced later, each date will have a different schedule of kids playing, not every group will play every halftime)

Cost: $20 per participant (100% of proceeds go to Ontario Boys Basketball)

*Please bring your ORD basketball jersey. They will be used at all dates.

Anthony Lakes Resort Ski Bus 12/28 - Winter 2024

The Ontario Recreation District is excited to announce the return of the weekly SKI BUS!

This weekly trip will run from the Ontario Recreation District offices to Anthony Lakes Resort each Saturday starting on December 28th! ORD has partnered with Anthony Lakes Resort to bring you exclusive rates for lift tickets, rentals, and lessons! Sign up today and learn how to ski or snowboard at Anthony Lakes Resort! All levels and ages welcome!

Program Information

Dates: 12/28, 1/4 1/11, 1/18, 1/25, 2/1, 2/8

Times: Mountain is open from 9:00am-4:00pm (Ski School begins at 10:30am) 

ORD Bus Departure: 8:00am Sharp! Bus leaves ORD Offices (745 SW 3RD Ave. Ontario, OR. 97914) 

Anthony Lakes Departure: 3:30pm (Arrive to ORD ~6:30pm)

Age Restrictions: 10 and Under must be accompanied by an Adult (18+)

                             11yrs-17yrs Must sign in and check in with trip chaperone.

Registration: Registration will close every Wednesday!

ORD Ski Bus Rates (Per Trip)

Daily Lift Ticket: $35.00 ($45.00 Out of District)

Daily Ski/Snowboard Rentals: $23.00

Daily Ski/Snowboard Lessons: $23.00

Helmet Rental: $5.00

*Rentals/Lessons not required for discounted rates. Lift Ticket required for all. 

Additional Information

Proper snow clothes/equipment required to participate. Please bring base layer leggings, long sleeve shirt, middle layer sweats, hoodie/sweater, snow pants, snow jacket, gloves, face cover, hat/beanie, and anything else needed to keep warm and safe! (Helmets available for rental.

ORD Ski Bus program will not provide any food/drink, additional transportation, additional supervision, or assume any responsibility for program participants.

Better Bones & Balance - Annual 2020

Better Bones & Balance is a program for seniors who are interested in improving their overall health. BBB classes are designed to gradually improve balance and strength to avoid falls and maintain independence. Classes will be held in 6-week sessions, 3 days per week- Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings from 9:30-10:30 am. 

First Class is FREE! After your first class, $5 per individual class, $10 per week, or $40 for 6-week membership. 

Participants should be mobile without a walker. 

BB&B classes will be held in the Ontario Recreation District Splash Pad party room.
