Ontario Recreation District is teaming up with the Friends of the Owyhee to bring a new outdoor exploration program to life! Nature Explorers will be a program to inspire use of City of Ontario Parks, engage local youth in parks and nature, and enhance their knowledge of the natural world. Program is designed to be an after-school activity from 4-5:15 pm.
Once a week through the month of April, parents/guardians will drop off their child at a park in Ontario at 4:00 pm. From 4:00-5:15 pm, the group will go through a lesson and games geared towards learning about science and nature.
Ages 4-10 will meet on Mondays, and ages 11-14 will meet on Tuesdays. Dates will be April 5th/6th, April 12th/13th, Sunday April 18th (short hike, parents welcome to attend!), April 19th/20th, and April 26th/27th.
Classes are $5 each (in district), $8 (out of district), or you can attend all 5 sessions for $20 (in district) or $30 (out of district).
Please remember to bring water and proper clothing to each session! We will have a time for snacks, you can bring your own or we will provide snacks as well (if you have allergies, please let us know or bring your own snacks!).
